Eurbie Lee Parks Buchanan, 76 of Eva, TN passed away January 23, 2018 at her residence. Ms. Buchanan was born September 25, 1941 in Westwood, CA to Jimmie Aaron Wesley Parks and Naomi Gentry. She was the only daughter among four children.Ms. Buchanan was a beloved wife and mother of three, Donnie, Loretta and Jimmy Buchanan. She was a feisty spirit not afraid to speak her mind and valued keeping it real; a loyal sister, compassionate advocate for others, published poet, school of life philosopher, and unique friend, often described as extraordinary. Ms. Buchanan was a strong woman of intuition, faithful to her husband , family and committed to her children whom she loved well. During her recent illness, she remained fierce in her beliefs about God and country and continued to look for good. She was concerned about the state of the nation where she longed to see a return to good old-fashioned Godly values that righted injustices.Ms. Buchanan considered herself thrifty and wise, given to hospitality, a truth-seeker, and Bible-believer. She was a blessing to so many along the way, sharing the amazing grace God extended to all. She was a dedicated homemaker, cosmetologist, beauty shop owner/operator and convenience store manager. She was, also a proud member of the United States Navy Ladies' Auxillary, Fraternal Order of Eastern Star, Lifetime Member of the International Poets Society and Assemblies of God.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by by her husband of nearly sixty years, Darrell Buchanan, three brothers, Jimmy Alvin,Claude Aaron and Karl Wayne. She is survived by three children: Donnie(Cecilia)Buchanan, Jimmy(Misty)Buchanan, Loretta Buchanan, two grandchildren: Brittney(Robbie)Richmond, Andrew Buchanan, USMC; several step-grandchildren/great-grandchildren children, numerous cousins, nieces, nieces, nephews, nephews all of whom recognized her as a one-of-a-kind, very special lady.Oakdale Funeral Home was in charge of private arrangements.
