Beverly Jean Maasen

February 19, 1932 — March 20, 2017

Mrs. Beverly Jean Maasen, age 85 of New Johnsonville, TN passed away on March 20, 2017 at Humphrey’s County Nursing Home. Mrs. Maasen was born on February 19, 1932 in Goldwin, ND to the late Julius Scheidt and Aleen Hanson Scheidt. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Raymond Kenneth Maasen; infant sons, Douglas Maasen, Gregory Maasen; grandson, William Kyle Maasen; brothers, Robert Scheidt, Donald Scheidt, James Scheidt, William Scheidt; sisters, Darlene Rice and Shirley Spicer.  She was a long standing member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was involved in many church and community activities through the years. She was also a homemaker and member of the St. Mary’s Ladies Guild. Survived by: Sons: Barry (Stephanie) Maasen of New Johnsonville, TN            Bill (Lori) Maasen of Lebanon, TN Daughter: Anita (Johnny) Townsend of Camden, TN Sister: Linda (Don) Ison of Pittsburg, CA Grandchildren: David (Rachel) Maasen, Katie (Eric) Keeton, Derek (Corey) Townsend, Leslie (Hunter) Langford, Zachary (Tabitha) Townsend, Trent (Amber) Maasen, Lee Maasen Eleven Great Grandchildren Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 1:30 pm at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Anthony officiating. Burial will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery in New Johnsonville, TN. A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 5:00 pm followed by visitation from 5:30-8:00 pm all at Oakdale Funeral Home. Visitation will also be on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 11:00-1:00 at Oakdale Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers please make donations to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Ladies Guild.
