John "Johnny" Edward Burns

Mr. John Edward Burns, affectionately known as "Johnny", age 75 of Sugar Tree, Tn passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Decatur County Hospital in Parsons, Tn. He was born January 11, 1941 to the late Martin Joseph Burns and Katherine Marie(Kelley)Burns in Nashville, Tn. He was also preceded by: a son: Channing Burns, two brothers: William F. Burns and James A. Burns, one sister: Mary Catherine Burns, an only grandchild: Catherine Ann Burns. He was a local Self Employed Business owner and a Veteran of the US Air Force.Survivors include:Wife: Pam Messmer of Sugar Tree, TN.Daughter: Cecilia Gayle Burns of Cleveland, OHSon: Kelley Brad Burns of Nashville, TN.Brother: Martin Joseph Burns, Jr of Nashville, TNFuneral Service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 1:30PM CST at St. Regina Catholic Church 108 Skyline Lane Parsons, TN 38363 with Farther Patrick Hirtz officiating. Interment will be Monday, October 17, 2016 1:30PM EST at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery 2200 E. Gov. John Sevier Hwy 158 Knoxville, Tn. 37920Visitation with the Burns family will held Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 10:00AM until 1:30PM at St. Regina Catholic Church in Parsons, TN.All visitation and service will be at the churchOakdale Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
