Johnny Caldwell Madden

Johnny Caldwell Madden, age 74 of Medina, Tn went to his Heavenly Home on April 23, 2016 after an extended illness.Johnny was born on November 22, 1941 to the late Walter Ray Madden, Sr. and the late Earline Cheatham Madden. He was the fourth of five children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Stewart Madden, two sisters, Mary Ellen Schlegel and Modena Ann Madden, brother-in-law John W. Schlegel, Sr., step-daughter, Rebecca Griggs Burton, niece, Sherry Schlegel Smith and great-nephew John Keith Schlegel.He is survived by one brother, Walter Ray Madden, Jr(Andrea) of Camden, Tn, one sister, Phyllis Madden Cooper(Charles) of Buena Vista, Tn. He is also, survived by two step-sons, Joe Stewart(Christy), Mark Stewart(Debi), two step-grandsons, Allen Griggs(Jennifer) and John Mark Stewart, three step-granddaughters, Jennifer Stewart, Tiffany Stewart, Courtney Burton, five step great grandchildren, two nieces, Lori Madden Davis(Bruce), Jan Schlegel Gordon(Philip), three nephews, Michael Madden Cooper, John Schlegel,Jr, Keith Madden Schlegel, several great nieces, nephews and one great great nephew.Johnny graduated with high honors from Camden Central High in 1959. He attended UTM for two years and was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Navy for four years. He began working for the Milan Arsenal, Milan, Tn in 1968, where he was a technician until his retirement. He enjoyed working in his yard, reading books, and being with his family, had a wonderful sense of humor, and was always very kind and respectful person to others. He was a Methodist in belief. We will always remember Johnny with many loving memories.Funeral Services will be Held Tuesday, April 26, 2016 1:00pm in the Chapel of Oakdale Funeral Home in Camden, Tn with Bro. Steve Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Camden, Tn.Visitation will be April 26, 2016 from 11:00am until time of service.
