Charles B. Smith, 84, of Flushing, MI formerly of Decaturville, TN. passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, MI.

Charles honorably served in the United States Army. He worked as a truck driver in Chicago, IL. After retirement, Charles returned home to Tennessee.

Charles was born on March 8, 1937 in Decaturville, TN. to the late John Williams and Sylvia Mae (Britt) Smith.

Charles is survived by his partner, lovingly referred to as “Sweet Pea”, Sarah McAlister. Sister Bobbie Blankenship of Lexington, TN., Special Niece Sandra White of Lexington, TN., Nephew Bryant Blankenship of Lexington, TN., Great Nephews Hayden and Dillon Blankenship also from Lexington, TN. Special Great Nephew Jacob Middleton of Lexington, TN., many cousins and countless others who cared for him.

A very special Thank you to Charles’s caretakers; Glenda, Julie, Paulette, and LaQuisha who showed him love, kindness and compassion.

Visitation with the family will be on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 11:00-2:00 pm at Oakdale Funeral Home Decatur Co.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm at Oakdale Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Tubbs officiating. Burial will follow in the Yellow Springs Cemetery in Holladay, TN.
