George Melvin Himes

Mr. George Melvin Himes, 83 of Camden, TN passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at his residence. Mr. Himes was born on January 20, 1939 in Hustburg, TN to the late Elgin McClain Himes and Alice Lorene Macklin Himes. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Dudley Himes; brothers Clyde Himes, Carl Himes, Jackie Clark and infant grandson William Keith Hudson Jr. Mr. Himes was retired from Consolidated Aluminum Plant and Castle Car Wash. He was also a member of Missionary Grove Baptist Church.  

Survived by: daughter, Denise (Keith) Hudson of Camden, TN, sons, Keith (Leeta) Himes of Dyersburg, TN, Steve Himes of Hollow Rock, TN, Richie (Pam) Himes of Hurricane Mills, TN, brother, Larry Richard (Nancy) Himes of Camden, TN, sisters, Mary Walkup of Pegram, TN, Claudine Upchurch of Bellevue, TN, Peggy (Russ) Nichols of Charleston, SC, Lucy (Willard) Melton of Waverly, TN, grandchildren: Brandy, Kelly, Keisha, Landon, Neil, Trevor, Bretta, Blake, Brittany, fourteen great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 11:00-1:00 pm at Oakdale Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 1 pm at Oakdale Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Camden City Cemetery.
