Jerry Donald Parish, 83, of Huntingdon TN, passed away on March 3, 2024, in Memphis, TN. He was born on June 29, 1940, in Huntingdon TN.
Jerry was a deeply beloved husband, father, grandaddy, uncle, cousin, brother, and friend. His passing was sudden and unexpected but quick, just like he always hoped it would be.
While we lost our most beloved dad, many have lost a friend and loved one in him. He has been a rock to many, devout husband, master of life parables, BBQ Master Chef, keen businessman, dedicated Patriot, and honored serviceman. No matter what happened between you in your lives, once you were marked as important to him, he'd be by your side if you needed him. There was so much more to him than just dad, though to us that was his greatest roll - he was also a friend, a coworker and colleague, a cousin, brother, stand-in paternal figure to the fatherless, a handyman, God servant, avid lover of all birds, vegetable gardener and the list goes on and on.
Jerry was a devout husband of 60 years and a small business owner of Hilltop Quick stop and BBQ. He proudly served as a LT Col in the United States Army Reserve National Guard for 30 years. Jerry also held roles as the Superintendent of Camden Water Department, owner, and founder of North Forty Truckstop, and General Sessions/Juvenile Judge in Benton County. He was a dedicated Tennessee Volunteer fan.
Jerry is survived by his sister Carolyn Curry, daughters Shellie Allen and Kellie Quinn, son-in-law Todd Allen and Mundy Quinn, grandchildren Teagan Allen, Mundy Quinn Jr, Savanna Smith (Justin), Breanna Miller (Clayton), great-grandchildren Grey Smith and Selah Smith, nephews Mark West and Scott Curry and niece Mitzi Steiner. He was preceded in death by his wife Rita Parish, father Cecil Parish, and Mother Louise Parish.
Jerry graduated from Huntingdon HS and Bethel University. He also served in the Tennessee Army National Guard Reserve for 30 years.
He worshipped at Camden First Baptist Church and Collierville First Baptist Church. Jerry's hobbies included being a Tennessee Football fan and actively participating in his grandchildren's activities.
