Mrs. Noritta “Rita” Mae Robin, age 82 of Camden, TN passed away on January 30, 2020 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Mrs. Robin was born on July 8, 1937 in St. Louis, MO to the late Virgil Andrews and Alta Hammond Andrews. She was also preceded in death by a son Eric Robin and brother Jonathon Andrews. Rita enjoyed a full life and she retired from Roadway Express on May 30th, 1996 with 38 years of service. It was a remarkable career, while leading the way in the male dominated trucking industry. She continued as a General Manager for The St. Louis Gamblers, a semi professional football team which her son, Chris Robin started at Quarterback. She went above and beyond as a single mother running her 3 kids to baseball, softball, and football, earning her what we would call "Bleacher Buns". The short shorts at the time left many a mark sitting on those hot bleachers.
She liked participating in a bowling league, fishing, and garden with her parents. She had a true passion and love for animals. She rescued and raised a new born deer for over a year named Jane Doe. Her dogs were her constant companions when she retired. The highlight of each year for 40 years was summer vacation where she would have all her children and grandchildren together, at her favorite place, the beach.
Just months after her retirement she moved to Camden, TN to join her husband and life companion, Billy Kee of 23 year. They enjoyed the country life, small town atmosphere, horseback riding, carriage rides, antique shopping, gardening and long drives. She was truly her unique self in every way, an inspiration to all the women in her life, and loved by all her guys.
