Thomas Jerry Tillman

Thomas Jerry Tillman was born on October 18, 1943. He was the youngest child born to Joe Sydney Tillman and Mary Ida Moore Tillman. His loving parents raised him and his five older siblings in Decatur county. He graduated high school from Scotts Hill High School in the class of 1962. He married his high school sweetheart Janette Galbraith on May 12, 1962. They celebrated 58 trips around the sun together.  He was the loving father of two daughters Angela (Brad) Jeffreys of Reagan, TN and Susan (Abram) Baker of Decaturville, TN. He was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren, Courtney Jeffreys, Corey (Rebekah) Jeffreys, Hannah (Cody) Groom, Emily Jeffreys, and Seth Baker.

            Jerry worked many jobs throughout his life, but he finally retired as a project manager from Keystone. He and his wife raised their daughters in Decatur County surrounded by family. They loved to travel, and made many memories camping all around the United States with friends. Jerry was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1975. He loved watching ballgames and could always tell you who was playing no matter the sport. Jerry was a storyteller and loved to share his experiences about the “Good Ole Days” with his grandchildren.  Jerry was a people person and he loved to make others laugh. He loved his grandchildren most in life and left each one with cherished memories. He often took the time to teach them life lessons and encouraged them to do things the right way. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his five older siblings. He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, and various cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jerry passed away in death on January 1, 2021 at the age of 77. He will be fondly remembered as a loving father, doting grandfather, and loyal friend.

The family chose cremation. Oakdale Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
